Now you know

I have been through things,
Some of which are difficult to express,
I bet everyone has had their share of such…

Through it all, I have realized that,
There’s a connection between heaven and earth…

Finding that connection makes everything meaningful, even death.
And missing it makes everything meaningless, even life.

Waters, Storms and Answers

Sometimes He turns the waters into wine,
Sometimes into blood to prove a point…

Sometimes He parts the waters to make a path,
Sometimes He opens the heavens and makes a flood…

Sometimes He lets you walk on water,
Sometimes He fish-ferries you like Jonah…

Sometimes He calms the storm,
Sometimes He calms the sailor…

With Him it’s such a wonder,
With His waters, storms and answers.

Never by chance: I know that was You!

That surge of strength that you “suddenly” muster,

That rush of compassion that overwhelms you,

That deep conviction that pulls you closer,

To what is alive, right, noble and true…

It’s never coincidence,

It’s never by chance,

Some of those experiences,

That we credit to “Fate’s Hands”…

Those moments that you undoubtedly know,

That a Bigger Power was in play,

Thank you momma for the seeds you sowed,

Thank you God for when momma prayed.

There’s nothing there…

faith vs fear

Fear knocked on my door,

and loud was its roar,

but when faith went to the door to face fear,

praise God on high, there was nothing there.

Doctors said it was parasomnia,

spiritualists called it spiritual warfare,

but when I called Jesus in mid-nightmares,

praise God on high, there was nothing there.

Pressure from peers dictated the must-have,

ignorance of her self-worth redefined true love,

but deep in the aching of her soul ’twas clear,

that without God, there’s nothing there.

A soul sold for money, glory and fame,

a feast had in strife and tongues untamed,

painful emptiness brings the piercing  truth near,

that without God’s love, there’s nothing there.

in search of God

To whom it may concern

Whose light is more radiant than that of the sun

The one who still stands when all else comes undone

Answer me these questions that burn…

What really is on the other side?

Why should it have to hide?

Where do souls and spirits really reside

After leaving this earthly tent behind?

Of universal wrong from right, who has the ultimate say?

When, even the earth can’t decide on a universal night from day?

Seems like cultural relativism is always in play…

So which truly is the right path, the right way?

By Morning I’ll be Alright

Feeling cold tonight,

And  not the physical kind

But by morning I’ll be alright…

Chills so cold this night,

Who knew there’s colder than ice?

But by morning I’ll be alright…

Feeling robbed of all my fight

Helpless like a flightless kite

But by morning I’ll be alright

Feeling not quite right

Like a giant robbed of its GI

But by morning I’ll
be alright…
